Reflections on Colour
Recent works by Rosemary Higbee

“Reflections on Colour” is an exhibition of recent works by Waterford based artist Rosemary Higbee, and is the first Solo Exhibition to be shown at the New Dyehouse Gallery Waterford

Now in her Eighties Rosemary Higbee is one of the hidden treasures of the Irish Art scene, she brings to her work her life’s influences from a childhood in India with all its vibrant colour, to dark dreary England of the 30s and then to the excitement of being an art student in post war London and seeing for the first time the works of artists such as Picasso Braque and Matisse. Rosemary considers herself to be a Modern painter, “These have been the great artists that I have loved and that I suppose must have influenced me in my work. The world of abstract expressionism and Popular Art had very little effect on me because all that came much later.” Rosemary Higbee
